Hi! I’m Thea Francis. This blog will tell the stories about my travel adventures with my bear Theodore. We have been lucky enough to travel the world and visit many exciting places, and if Theodor could speak, he would love to tell you about every single one!
But first, how about a little information about me. I grew up in Colorado to a school teacher and a bus driver. I am an only child and have aspirations to be on the “Big Screen” someday as an actor. I have had some small parts, but my big break has not happened yet. So in the meantime, I am working on my craft with local plays, auditions, and demonstrations with my martial arts Demo Team.
I have been on stage performing in plays, musicals, and dance recitals since I was 4 years old. I love being in front of people, and I believe my passion is making people smile. Entertainment has a way of transforming people to a different place. For some, it is an escape from their miserable lives – if only for a short time. For others, it can be inspiring, frightening, educating, or just plain fun. There is always a story to be told and I’m happy to be the story teller.
I have had limited professional acting training. Unfortunately, growing up on Colorado doesn’t offer a lot of professional acting educational opportunities. Besides, as the old saying goes – it’s not what you know, it’s who you know. Being in the right place at the right time is lucky too. And the other old saying goes: it’s better to be lucky than good!
In high school, I did have the opportunity to travel to Los Angeles to pursue my acting career for a couple of summers. I made some good connection with agents and learned a ton about the industry, but girls like me are a dime a dozen out there so I’m still thinking about what will make me stand out. Some small parts gave me invaluable insight to how the industry works – especially for school aged girls like me. Luckily, if I did land a big part at the time, as a school teacher, my mother would be able to home school me while I was working to further my career. Unfortunately, it didn’t happen yet, so I’m still working hard to prepare for when the opportunity presents itself.
So when I was a little girl, my buddy Theodore was given to me during my 3rd birthday party. I fell in love with him since day one and he has been with me everywhere I go. He is my security blanket, my confidant, my cheerleader, and my coach. I can rely on him to get me back on track whenever I go astray. I know, I know, it’s all in my own head and I control my own thoughts, yada, yada, yada. But it’s nice to have companionship just the same!
So I will try to go in order with our adventures, but please forgive me if I don’t recall all the little details. Sometimes jet lag is a powerful thing that makes you nuts when you can’t sleep at 3am and can’t stay awake in the middle of the day! But I remember the things that caught my emotions in a certain way and I hope to share those emotions with you.
Thanks again for reading and I look forward to sharing with you!
